Day One
Overnight: Paris
Bienvenue a Paris!
This afternoon you’ll meet your group at your cozy hotel for introductions. We will sample a variety of French wines and learn the basics of understanding how to choose the right wine for you. After, you’ll go for a walk to learn about the heart of Paris, with a stop at the newly renovated Notre Dame. We will finish our walk at dinner where we will try out some traditional French dishes, including escargot.

Overnight: Paris
Markets and Cooking
We will head to the Latin Quarter this morning and meet our chef for a day exploring French cuisine. We will start by touring a market area, choosing our ingredients along the way, and then return to the kitchen to cook together. You’ll have a chance to learn new cooking techniques, and share what you’ve made for lunch. Your evening will be free to enjoy Paris.

Overnight: Paris
Champagne Life
Today is a field trip to the Champagne region to sample some bubbly. We will take the TGV high speed train to Reims, the heart of champagne, and take a walking tour with a local guide. Our walking tour will end with a visit to one of the famous caves, including a sampling of champagnes. You’ll be free for lunch and exploring, and will meet up for an aperó, a small cocktail hour, before returning to Paris.

Chocolat
We will be joined by a local expert today to tour a neighborhood of Paris, and learn about chocolate production. In the evening, we will sample cocktails together and have the option of joining your guide for a visit to a jazz club.

Colonization and Cuisine
We will venture outside of the tourist’s Paris and see an immigrant neighborhood with a local to show us around. French food has been influenced by the cultures where France has colonized, and we will sample Arab, Vietnamese, and North African nibbles to paint a picture of greater France. If we have time, we may visit a museum telling the story of immigrant communities.

Fromage et Opera
We will start our day learning about the history of cheese, and then try our hands at making some from scratch. Cheese is a huge part of life in France with over 1000 types, which we will sample (maybe not ALL of them!) You’ll have a free afternoon to shop or relax. This evening, put on your finest French couture for a dinner spectacular. You’ll enjoy dinner with live opera and music. Together, we will toast a delicious week in Paris!
