I can't go on my trip, can I get my deposit back?

Why isn't the deposit refundable?

We are a small business with operating costs for planning, organizing, and running our tours. Plans are already being made based on a particular number of planned guests and often deposits must be paid to our vendors to secure our reservations.  Thank you for supporting small businesses and understanding the need for this policy!

When will I get the hotel information for my tour?

60 days prior to the start date of your tour you will receive a letter outlining the first and last hotels of the tour in case you would like to make reservations for additional nights.

What are the hotels like?

We typically use hotels that are high quality mid-range hotels. The exceptions are when you stay in a cozy farmhouse (as listed on the tour page).

When will I know the itinerary?

If it is a new tour, the itinerary is usually being worked on and tweaked up until the month of the tour. We will share what we can with you 3 months ahead of time, but the itinerary is always subject to change.

I want to make reservations for meals and other activities that the tour doesn't include. What days have free time and meals on our own?

It isn’t recommended to plan other things during a tour that require a reservation. While we try to give you a schedule ahead of time, meals and other activities need to be shifted sometimes based on weather, availability of local guides, and other unforeseen factors. While your guide will try to make sure you’re available at the time of reservations outside of the tour, they cannot guarantee exact timing. We appreciate your flexibility!

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel your spot on a tour more than 60 days prior to the start date of that tour, you will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made between 60 and 31 days prior to the tour departure are eligible for a 50% refund of the cost of the tour minus the non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made 30 days or less before the start date of the tour are non-refundable.

What happens if you cancel the tour?

You will receive a full refund. If we cancel a tour, it will be at least 60 days prior to the start date of the tour.
