ROME STAYCATION

November 2025

November 16-22, 2025 with Sarah

$3300 per person Double Occupancy/ $4000 Single Occupancy

The Eternal City is called that for a reason, it would take an eternity to see it all. In this week-long Staycation, we will explore the world’s most layered city, walking the rioni, testing the best gelato, and seeing the city from a local’s point of view. We will see is the side of Rome that only a local knows. What we WON’T be doing is any of the overcrowded/touristy sights—no Colosseum and no Vatican Museum.

This year’s Rome staycation will be a ‘Trust Me’ tour. It has no published itinerary. We think most travels people go on are too planned out and too many photos of what everything looks like have been spied on before even leaving home. This tour will have more surprises for our guests. And this format allows us to add a few things in & move things around as we see fit since we are not bound to a set itinerary.

Paolo was the best! Stellar in every way! I learned so much about art from him. Kind, generous, patient, and knowledgeable! I had a wonderful time visiting many Roman sites and Gandolfo. The week flew by. Thank you, Paolo! Barbara

This was a great trip, especially for my first solo adventure. A nice small group of travelers. The tour guide, Paola, was extremely knowledgeable, worked hard to make sure we all enjoyed the different venues. I would definitely travel with this company again.

I love the “deeper dive” into an amazing city like Rome. So much richer an experience! Great balance of planned tours and activities and free time to explore. The smaller group allowed a lot more flexibility and I loved the special bonuses, like the moonlight tour of the Colosseum (not normally included), as well as the happy accidents like the visit to the Nemi Museum. Sarah is so knowledgeable and willing to pivot, and the guest tour guides were great as well. I’d highly recommend these tours!

That was quite a week. Sarah planned the trip so that we maximized our time together. There was plenty of free time to go off on our own. The guides that Sarah brought in were fabulous. Paolo took us through the Borghese. He was very knowlegable & met us on our knowledge level. I felt like we could point at any item in the Borghese & he could tell us a story. Agnes did a church tour that I wasn't excited much about. We almost sat it out. It turned out great! Very interesting. It's not by luck that Sarah pulled these 2 guides out of a hat. It takes skill & evaluation to judge if these guides will work well with the group. Several times Sarah pivoted on the spot if we saw something that was interesting. Our van driver even got lost & Sarah found a wooden ship museum that was very cool. It takes a lot of institutional knowledge (and some luck) by Sarah to have the chops to do that. It was a fun week. Sarah kept us out of big crowds too. That was very nice. We walked back alleys and ducked in monuments that were near empty. It was a treat every day to see what Sarah had planned for us. A very well rounded tour with art, architecture & history all woven together
