Cambodia may not be on everyone’s bucket list, but it should be. This small country, surrounded by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, was once home to one of the most elegant and sophisticated civilizations in Asia, The Khmer. The greatest legacy of the Khmer is the famous complex of Angkor Wat, which is far more than a single temple and stuns with beauty and complexity. But Angkor is not all there is to Cambodia. Its more recent history is a tragic story of war and devastation. Despite this, the Cambodian people are warm and welcoming.
While the sights of Cambodia will impress you, our Cambodian guide Kheang is what makes this a very special tour. His personal story of growing up in turbulent times is riveting, delivered with grace–and a dash of dark humor.
We invite you to come with us on a real adventure, to a beautiful, exotic country with a soulfulness that is hard to describe.

Kheang grew up during the difficult years of war, experiences that shaped his strength and deep connection to his homeland. At a young age he began working as a security guard at a local temple, where his bond with Angkor first began.
In 1997, Kheang started his career as a tour guide and sees Angkor more than a place of history—it is his second home and the heart of his life’s work which he passionately shares with tour guests as well as his wife and three children.
