Cybermonday Travel Deals

img_6745I have to be honest, I kind of hate shopping. I remember when I was a kid, as soon as my mom would arrive at the mall with me, I would suddenly be “sick” and we’d have to go home. I would have preferred the stomach flu to a day of shopping. The mall doesn’t make me queasy anymore, but I am a woman who likes the efficiency of internet shopping. Why bother wandering a mall when you can find what you want on your phone while wearing threadbare sweats and drinking wine? CyberMonday is the best.

The discounts on CyberMonday are pretty good and often include travel deals. I did a little research on what’s on offer, here is a compilation of what looked interesting to me.

Alaska Airlines

It seems to be all the buzz on the internet, Alaska Airlines is doing a huge sale tomorrow. The fares look promising, up to 40% off in some cases. I don’t NEED to go to Disneyland, but how can I afford not to?

Amazon Travel Gear Deals

Amazon.com is my preferred retailer. I have Amazon Prime (which you can give as a gift) and enjoy same day delivery, which feels stupidly decadent. I needed an organizing box for my kids’ Legos recently and had no idea where to buy just the right thing, so I had Amazon bring it to me…about three hours later! Tomorrow they are doing a 20% off deal for many travel items, including my favorite packing cubes. If you’re in the market, that will probably be the best price you’ll find.

Amex Travel

If you tend to stay in larger hotels when you travel, Amex is offering a deal with hotel discounts up to 50% through the end of Monday.

AutoEurope

Car rental rocks! My favorite rental car clearinghouse will have some good deals tomorrow, looks like about 10% off. That can add up!

British Airways

If you’re thinking of going to London and taking advantage of the low value of the pound, this may be your chance. I saw a deal for 2-for-1 on business class fares, as well as an offer for three nights at a London hotel for free. That’s a big deal since London hotels are off the charts, price-wise.

Delta

If you fly Delta often as I do, you may have some miles piled up. Delta is offering mileage tickets starting at 5000 miles one-way, which is a fantastic deal, available through the end of Monday. Hmmm, my kids have been dreaming of Disneyworld or NYC….

Eddie Bauer

Eddie Bauer is my go-to place for outerwear. They also have their own line of travel clothes, which I have mixed feelings about. My picks are their packable down jackets and the Aster Lily travel dress, both of which I have and like. Avoid the Travex pants, they make you smelly. Most things come in awkward sizes too! Everything is 40% through the end of Monday.

Expedia

If you’re considering a little travel but don’t know where you want to go, Expedia will be offering travel deals on flights and hotels all day on Monday. The site is currently offering 90% off certain hotels.

Travelsmith

I’ve never been a big fan of “Travel Clothes” but Travelsmith has some interesting gear. I know people who swear by their underwear. At the moment, it’s offering 30% off everything and will have a 50% off clearance items tomorrow.

Have you seen any great deals out there? Let me know!
